Pearl Street Systems has installed LED lighting and occupancy controls in over 250 KSF across campus including dormitories, offices and classrooms.
A prestigious university, located in Greenwich Village in New York City, is the only university where a world-renowned design school comes together with premier undergraduate and graduate programs and colleges. Pearl Street provided turnkey support to the school through initial lighting audits, solutions development and project management during the installation. Most of the work was done off-hours with minimal disruption to faculty, students and staff. The new LED lighting solutions provide 50% less energy than the previous system and with the added occupancy controls; another 10-15% energy savings, saving considerable dollars and reducing the university’s carbon footprint.
Pearl Street was able to secure about $20,000 in incentive rebates for the university; further reducing the cost outlay and delivering a payback in less than 3 years.
This LED upgrade has an expected life of over 15 years, virtually eliminating all routine lighting maintenance and its associated costs and recycling requirements
